3 Tips For Promoting Your Business On Linkedin

LinkedIn is now more crucial than it has ever been, due to the global pandemic. These days you can’t really start up conversations with people in person. So, you must rely on your LinkedIn posts for optimal networking.

In a recent podcast with Billy Bateman, guest Franklin Williams gave the lowdown on what LinkedIn is— “an active, perpetual network of executives, experts, and thought leaders who are all in one place, trying to learn from each other and share things.”

How To Get Your Company Noticed On Linkedin

Let’s break down how you should really be using Linkedin to get noticed!

There are 3 simple steps you can follow to transform your LinkedIn from a cheesy social media profile into a platform that drives demand and high-intent engagement.

1. Recognize Your Persona

You want your LinkedIn engagement to be meaningful. Therefore, you first need to define your customer persona, and then find them on LinkedIn. Consider who really cares about what you and your company have to offer.

Join groups where your ideal customer profiles are engaging.

2. Be Consistent

Consistency is key! Set a posting schedule and stick to it!

You need to be disciplined about it and not skip any weeks. The LinkedIn algorithm rewards you for posting consistently and will bring your posts to the top.

3. Be Authentic

It’s important to be transparent in your posts. Don’t sound like a robot! It may feel like you’re really putting yourself out there, but that’s a good thing!

And keep in mind that when constructing your LinkedIn brand, you need to be patient. You may not see instant engagement.

Pro Tips For Posting On Linkedin

On the recent episode of Digital Conversations, Franklin gave some amazing tips on how to format your posts. Some examples include the following:

  • Here at (company name) we are thinking about ____ in this way because… How do you look at this?
  • Why do you think SDR’s are undervalued today? I find it really interesting and can’t seem to get a straight answer. Comment below!
  • Check out our new podcast episode! Let us know in the comments what you think about the topic discussed.

Basically, as you set your posting schedule, use these examples as a guideline. One day post a question and the next post something they could check out. The key is that you want to capture people’s attention and get them commenting on your posts.

Other Tips To Cracking Linkedin’s Algorithm

The LinkedIn algorithm is changed every month— and sometimes every few weeks! So, it’s hard to stay on top of it. However, here are some helpful hints that will shed some light onto how to get your posts recognized.

  • Post about relevant topics. Establish your audience and post content they will be interested in.
  • Post links in the comments. Links in the comments opposed to in the post will reward your post with higher impressions and views.
  • Focus on text-only posts. LinkedIn wants users to stay on their site longer, which is why text-only posts are put at higher rankings. In one study, text-only posts received 1044 average views as opposed to 610 received by posts with a link, image, or video.
  • Post at optimal times. Post when your audience will likely be engaged. LinkedIn takes this into account and will not reward posts that are at unconventional times (i.e. a post at 8 p.m. on Friday night).
  • Tag people in your posts, especially LinkedIn influencers. Find influencers in your industry and connect with them. The algorithm takes note when they share or comment on your post.

You want people coming to you because they’ve recognized that you offer a solution to their problems.

People don’t like to be sold to. In this day and age, buyers are well aware of their problems and are actively looking for solutions. Instead of showing them features and functionality of your product, teach them why your product is the ideal solution they are looking for.
